About Indigo Financial Planning

A practice built on advice that actually matters.

Indigo Financial Planning was founded with a straightforward belief: that people in regional Australia deserve the same quality of financial advice as those in major cities — and that good advice should be personal, not processed.

We’re based in Merimbula on the Far South Coast of NSW, and we work with clients across the Bega Valley and surrounding region. Our client base is deliberately small — because quality advice takes time, and we’re not interested in volume at the expense of value.

Why Indigo?

A practice built on advice that actually matters.

The colour indigo has been associated for centuries with integrity, wisdom, trust and fairness — the same values that sit at the heart of everything we do.

Deep, considered and unhurried, indigo sits between the calm reliability of blue and the intuition of violet. It’s the colour of structure, of clear thinking, and of advice given with sincerity and purpose.

We chose it because it reflects how we work — and how we believe financial advice should always be given.

Our approach

We take the time to understand your full financial picture before we recommend anything. That means your income, your assets, your debts, your goals — and importantly, what retirement actually looks like for you specifically.
We believe in written advice, transparent fees, and relationships that last. Most of our new clients come from referrals from existing clients — which tells us we’re doing something right.

Working with city-based clients

We work with clients in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra who want a more personal advice relationship than a large city firm can offer. Many of our city-based clients are planning a sea-change or retirement relocation to the Far South Coast — and we help them navigate the financial transition before and after the move.

Whether it’s restructuring superannuation ahead of retirement, coordinating with your accountant on the financial aspects of a property sale, or simply wanting an adviser who picks up the phone — we work via video call and can manage everything remotely without you ever needing to visit Merimbula in person (though you’re always welcome to).
